On March 18th long-term human right's activist Gao Zhisheng came out of hiding after he disapperd long over a year ago.
For the last decade Gao Zhisheng has been fighting for huamn right's reforms inside the PRC (People's Republic of China). He is by profession a lawyer and often used his law skills to try and improve human right's in the country.
the 'capitalist tratior's.' insdie the communist party of China (who still worship Maso which is odd for a country that is capitalist isn't it - MAOISTS!).
have threatend Gao Zhisheng, in the past and he was arrested at one point and beaten in jail.
This is showing that China is just as brutal as it was when Mao was in charge over 60years ago. Gao Zhisheng; has said that if the Chiness authoraties let him go back to his family and friends he will give up fighting against their lack of huamn rights.
He has kept quite to his current wearaboutes but it's reported taht over the pone he told family and friends to leave him alone which they said was out of character for him. This has lead other lawyers and rights activists to suspect taht he is under preasure from the authoraties.
This is sad....It really does make me want to turn to anarchism and denounce ALL states as evil and corrupt. This man strongly believed in his quest to bring reforms to China and he got toruted and beaten in a jail for his efforts.

China doesn't worship Mao anymore. They talk favorably about him because he founded their country, but they also demonize him and talk about all the supposedly "bad things" he did. You don't know anything about China. Check out "The Battle for China's Past" by Mobo Gao. Or some of the works of Dongping Han. They both lived in China. I think they live elsewhere now. I know Gao spent some time in Australia.

ReplyDeleteEven if the current Chinese government claimed to be Maoist, that doesn't mean they are. Like when Bush violated the US Constitution. He claimed to be true to the ideas of America's founders. But was he really?
ReplyDeletewell wouldn't Gao Zhisheng know about China as well? And how it's treating him at the minute and has been treating him on and off for the last decade?
ReplyDeleteOk yes the authors of "battle for China's past" might have lived through the Mao era, but how accurate is that book. Is it biased?
Other writers lived through Mao's era and said it was a dictatorship basicly.
Why are they wrong?
They are wrong because there is profit in crying to a Western readership about being oppressed in a country NATO dislikes. They are overexaggerating to get rich. Just because you live in a country doesn't mean you know what is going on. The way people view things is based on their politics and class, and it's hard to find the truth to be honest. Most refugees from communist places are just middle class cry babies.
