Ok I'm going to make this quick. I agree with most of what this clearly marxist slanted articale says about God. However there are one or two points that the articale fails to mention that should be addressed.
1 - Christians/Conservatives [could] argue that God has the right to act in the way he did/does because he is not human thus his actions are ABOVE human laws. However don't fear my fellow atheists/agnostics there's a counter-argument for this that the Partisan should have me noted (it also didn't note the possible right wing argument that God shouldn't have to obey human laws).
Anyway my argument to this argument is that God created man in his image..To be 'perfect' (God's meant to be perfect according to the bible isn't he?)
So if Man shouldn't kill or commit sexual amoralism and other acts (10 commandments) God should not do this either because God is thus breaking his own laws - thus been a toatl hypocrite.
2 - No reference is made in the articale to the slaughtering of the first Egyptian child in every family in Egypt...(by God). This is one of the most amoral things the God of the OT (Old testament) does. Pharoh threatend to kill the Hebrew's children BUT he did not...Insted God DID kill Pharoh's children and other's...God kills children. Yet in the new testament Jesus tells a group of children that God "loves" children. This is not noted in the article as a complete hypocrasy and white wash of the past.
3 - God also had a thing against homosexuals and lesbians he burnt down an entire village because of their "imoral sexual acts." That would in today's world equate to mass murder I believe.
4 - flooding the world is fun these days....Just ask God he did it and only spared one human (Noah) because Noah believed in him..So basicly if you don't believe in God you deserve to be burnt in a flood. This I thought would have been a perfect reference in the articale but is not mentioned.
The articale still touches upon some intresting points such as the complete sadism of hell (why would anyone deserve to burn in a lake of fire forever). I think saying HItler is better then God is...Maybe a bit overdone..Hitler was by far the worst dictator of the 20th centuary/worst leader of the 20th centuary. The funny thing is I'm probably going to hell for writing this articale but I don't really give a shit. God is a tyrant.
Also the articale does not point out that "other" God's are guilty of tyrany as well. What makes Allah and the Jewish God any better then the Christian God?
(Or worse). Their all fundmeantally the same concept.
God is just an excuse to get people ton conform (and we are already brainwashed into that).
Maybe an articale on organized religion would be profitable as it is a twisted thing.

Those are some great examples you point out. I just forgot or either didn't know about them. You see, there is so much stuff in the Bible it's hard to keep up with all of it. I want to kick myself for forgetting to talk about how God supposedly flooded the world. I said that God was worse than Hitler, and he is if you think about it, but if Hitler was given God's powers then I think things would either stay bad or get worse.
ReplyDeleteyes..I understand the bible is a large book and it would be impossible to capture/document all of God's acts. And if Hitler did have God's power well...We could only hope for the worst.
